How COVID-19 May Effect Your Event

**update**  ON Sept 14. 2021, the Province of Ontario provided details for Proof of Vaccination requirements.  Details below.

ON Aug 17,. 2021, the Province of Ontario officially ANNOUNCED FURTHER REOPENING WOULD BE PAUSED indefinitely (search for the word “pausing” on the linked page).  Another good article on this is also located on BLOG TO.  This means events are happening under Step 3 of the Roadmap until any further change is announced.  

ON Aug 4. 2021, Exiting the Roadmap Announced.  

the Province of ONtario announced the path to Exiting the “REOPENING ONTARIO” PLAN LINKED HERE.  This is our current understanding of this plan as it effects weddings and events.  Note the plan to move to this has been paused.

 

As we are currently in Step 3 of the Roadmap, these are the details for events currently. 

The plan has three steps with corresponding levels of openness.  Moving from Step to Step depends on levels of transmission and immunization rates.  There is a minimum of 21 days between each step assess the effect of moving to the next step.  Moving to Step 1 is anticipated to happen the week of June 14th. 

 

Step 3 General Restrictions – For Events Happening between now and un undetermined date

Gatherings

  • A gathering that is casual hosted on private property and not staffed or managed
  • indoors 25 people maximum
  • outdoors 100 people maximum
  • Proof of vaccination is not applicable

Wedding Ceremony (Religious Services, Rites – Does not apply to receptions)

  • Indoor and outdoor capacity only limited by  physical distancing of 2 m / 6 ft
  • Proof of vaccination is not applicable

Meeting and Event Spaces

  • Different from a Gathering in that the event is hosted by a business that is staffed and managed
  • Indoors @ 50% or 1000 people (whichever is less) – The barn – 60 people
  • Outdoors @ 75% or 5000 people (whichever is less) – 40 x 80 tent – 400 people
  • both capacity limited by  physical distancing of 2 m / 6 ft
  • Proof of vaccination is applicable

 

Step 3 SpecifiC Restrictions for Fermanagh Farms as a “Meeting and Event Events Outdoor only spaces available

  • Our barn as an indoor space and is open with max capacity of 60 people (not including staff or hired professionals)
  • A tent with a maximum of two walls is considered an Outdoor space
  • Capacity limited to 75% of maximum capacity of tent.  A 40 x 80 tent has a maximum capacity of 400 people in theatre style seating.  300 people is 75%.  (not including staff or hired professionals)
  • No maximum number of guests per table
  • tables must be separated by 2 m / 6 ft
  • Contact tracing and COVID screening will be in effect via our on-line tool
  • Masks must be worn while in indoor spaces
  • Masks must be worn when 2 m / 6 ft distance is not possible between guests from different families or social bubbles
  • Proof of vaccination is required for events in indoor spaces

Proof of Vaccination Details

And how it will be implemented at Fermanagh Farms.  Full details on these requirements can been in the regulation here  the summary here. and the COVID-19 Vaccine Update – The Last Mile here.

  • Proof will be required for indoor events.  For us, this means events held in our barn.
  • Proof will not be required for outdoor events.  For us this means events held outdoor or in tents with a max. of two walls.  At these events, proof is not required to use indoor washrooms.
  • Proof will not be required for any kind of event that is a ceremony, religious service or rite including wedding ceremonies whether they be indoors or outdoors.
  • For events between Sept 22 and Oct 13, 2021 for which these requirement are applicable, a guest may provide results of an antigen test administered within the previous 48 hours.
  • We will be checking Proof of Vaccination at our Check-in / Registration table upon guest arrival.

Exiting the Roadmap – For Events Happening at a Currently undetermined dated

The regulations for exiting the Roadmap are posted at this link as a PDF.  Here is what we understand for events at Fermanagh Farms once Ontario exits the Roadmap.

  • no COVID regulation related gathering number restrictions whether indoors or outdoors
  • masks will be required to be worn indoors.  An exception is made “to consume food or drink”
  • A tent with a maximum of two walls is considered an Outdoor space
  • No maximum number of guests per table
  • Contact tracing and COVID screening will be in effect via our on-line tool

 


What else does this mean for your event at Fermanagh Farms?

  • As always, we are committed to providing a safe, clean, comfortable space for our event hosts, groups and guests.
  • Events will only proceed within the context of Public Health Guidelines as of the day of the event
  • Events that can not meet within those guidelines will need to be postponed or cancelled as per our Cancellation Policies

  • We will maintain social distance during your Venue Tour
  • While most of our tour will be outdoor and with lots of space to keep social distance, you are welcome to bring masks as per your comfort level.
